Kudos Michelle Bernard of MSNBC

On Sunday's McLaughlin Group:

John McLaughlin: Do you think the NEA (National Education Association) works against the larger educational interest of the United States? Does it like merit pay for teachers?

Michelle Bernard: No! Absolutely not! The NEA likes poor people to stay uneducated and to stay stupid because it keeps their members with permanent jobs.

McLaughlin: Really!? Really!?
Yes John, really.  Never have I heard such an apt description of teacher unions.  And of course Eleanor Clift's always nasally and obnoxious voice has to shout over Bernard's and defend the teachers who don't care about money and are in it "for the kids."  I am not going to lie, if I were still a kid, I would love to have a teacher strike.

In other news, check out 17 facts you didn't know about China

By far the best one:

China has 64 million vacant homes, including entire cities that are empty

Looks like China's Central Bank is putting Greenspan's property bubble to shame.  I can't wait till it pops and these states have to suffer.
