This is getting old, but damn is it pretty funny.
Brent Budowsky's blog post Ron Paul deserves far more respect! in The Hill yesterday, though short and simple, is pretty good.
Paul has serious ideas that have become a significant factor in our national discussion. He has intensely loyal supporters who will come out to vote. He has enormous potential to raise money. The most recent money bomb for Paul was a major success. He chairs a major subcommittee with potential to regularly raise his issues and influence the debate. We can only hope that he runs in 2012 and is able to survive everything the powerful interests in this country throw at him. See the most recent attempt by CNBC to silence Dr. Paul when he questioned Bernanke this week.
As presidential candidates I think Gingrich, Trump, Palin and Christie are nothing more than media hype and will not be players in 2012. Ron Paul will be a serious player, one way or the other. He deserves far more respect from the political chattering class.
I will end by mentioning Mish's wonderfully titled blog post Ben Bernanke is a Fiscal Moron.
Fed chairman Ben Bernanke likes to bitch about Congressional interference in Fed monetary policy yet Bernanke repeatedly tells Congress what to do regarding fiscal policy.
